Thumbs up Who is Buddy Christ?

I've seen all kinds of more or less mutilated pictures of the Buddy Christ statue in the Photoshop threads. Now I would like to know where the original comes from. I'm working for a publishing house and we are currently doing a book on religion for high school students. I think Buddy would make for a fine illustration somewhere but I need to find out about copyright and such first.

Thanks, I knew I've seen him in a movie somewhere. I'm contacting the staff at www.dogma-movie.com about publishing rights.

It may be easier to go straight to View Askew, Kevin Smith's production company (Smith is the writer/director of DOGMA). I doubt you'll be able to get any publishing rights from them, but you can get your own Buddy Christ dashboard statue from Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, their online store.

Smile

When I first got my convertible, a friend gave me a Buddy Christ dashboard figurine. We're both Kevin Smith's films fanboys. My mother saw it one day, picked the Jovial Jesus up, looked at it in puzzlement, and finally said "well, I guess He did smile once in a while." Ah, the fruits of Freewill Baptist faith.
