I agree with David Gould on this one. This is clearly one of Amos' more lucid posts. The "bible reading as manna" metephor for fundamentalists was outstanding.

I have read some of your "fun arguments", where you say that protestants are going to hell. If those are fun arguments, I would hate to see you get serious.

Amos,
You are a breath of fresh air compared to the christian southern baptist evangelical pentacostal
methodist presbyters that I talk to and sometimes I even understand what you say.
An analogy from Dr. Graham....You are accused of a crime.
You are arrested, and are taken before a judge and jury of your peers.
You are convicted of this vile crime.
You now face the Judge for sentencing, the Judge says to you, Guilty!!!as charged!!!
He passes the sentence of death.
You realize that your crime has been greivous enough so that now you will be executed.
As they drag you from the courtroom to be executed, the Judge says wait!!!!!
And he looks down from the bench and says, "I will take your place and be executed in your stead, you are free to go."
Billy says this is the sacrifice that has been made for you by Jebus, praise god!!
How can you turn away from this sacrifice made in love for you?
Of course, this doesnt count if you are Catholic
or even worse... Jewish.......

Thanks but it is true what I write. Do you really think I am smart enough to write it if it was not spelled out before me? I mean it's all over in the bible and I can prove everything (?) to be just opposite to what they think is true.
