Honestly, the credit God gets for fucking everything. Kid lives : It was God's guiding hand, praise god. If the kid had died, would it have been Gods fault? I find the christian idea that God intervenes sometimes and a whim more disturbing than the idea that he intervenes not at all. -Gambit |

I was tempted to respond that the kill switch failure was actually God trying to call the little girl home for whatever reason and that her surviving was actually Satan's intervention subverting God's plan.

OOO I just remembered a story that my 8th grade theology teacher (parochial school) told when praising god for watching over her family. She described an incident where her 8year old daughter was climbing the ladder to get on the high dive at the pool and slipped backwards at the top of the ladder. She fell straight down and land squarely on her feet. Had she fell any other way her back probably would've been broken. An angel must have guarded her decent. Oh yeah, both ankles were shattered. Praise be to God. |

My favorite "miracle" story was the night in 1950 when a church exploded, but no one was hurt because all fifteen members of the choir were late for practice. Here's the snopes page on it. In the end, thats one amazing coincidence! I wonder how people would have reacted if it were a Hindu temple.
Bet Jung got all excited about it too. Quote:
