Professor#1: So did I. He did get good height and distance though. Nice form but it's still a failure.

While having a great day with my 15 year old son in our two scupper pros, a jet ski passed at a reasonable speed with a father and his three year old daughter. Suddenly the father fell off, the kill switch band slid from his wrist and his three year old with her hand on the throttle sped off at 20 or 30 knots
Cue Benny Hill Music as kid skis past woman sunbathing who jumps up topless.

Honestly, the credit God gets for fucking everything.
Kid lives : It was God's guiding hand, praise god.
If the kid had died, would it have been Gods fault?

I find the christian idea that God intervenes sometimes and a whim more disturbing than the idea that he intervenes not at all.

Must be the one of the versions we have today.

I was tempted to respond that the kill switch failure was actually God trying to call the little girl home for whatever reason and that her surviving was actually Satan's intervention subverting God's plan.

I like the people on that board though and would rather not engage in theological bickering since the godspeak was just typical programmed platitudes. (despite the feeling that this statement

Until someone proves me wrong, I'll thank God for the miracle.
and this statement
Quote:
every once in a while the hand or voice of God is so apparent it has to be recogenized
reek of people itching to "witness".) Besides, one dissenter posted that had a guardian angel been present that the little girl wouldn't have been put in danger in the first place and the thread immediately died.

OOO I just remembered a story that my 8th grade theology teacher (parochial school) told when praising god for watching over her family.

She described an incident where her 8year old daughter was climbing the ladder to get on the high dive at the pool and slipped backwards at the top of the ladder. She fell straight down and land squarely on her feet. Had she fell any other way her back probably would've been broken. An angel must have guarded her decent. Oh yeah, both ankles were shattered. Praise be to God.

My favorite "miracle" story was the night in 1950 when a church exploded, but no one was hurt because all fifteen members of the choir were late for practice. Here's the snopes page on it. In the end, thats one amazing coincidence! I wonder how people would have reacted if it were a Hindu temple.
Bet Jung got all excited about it too.

:notworthy Thats a terrific idea! How could they possibly argue against it? She could have gone straight to heaven, but now she gets her chance to go to hell, too. Thank god for free will.
