Yet another reason to stay away from ARN.

Please, you should warn people to turn off their Irony-O-Meters when reading stuff like this! DNAUnion's arguments could be refuted by an undergraduate biology student. In fact, the only notable thing about him is his tendency to lash out as his arguments go down in flames around him, and it is that persistent rudeness and the rudeness of the other ARN posters which eventually put me off.

As to ARN vs. II evo forum:

1) at this very moment people are posting like
crazy to a thread started by William Dembski.

2) HERE, you've got advice-to-the-newbie-TA.

Tough call, I know.....
Not a tough call in the slightest. Since it was linked here, I read the entire thread in ARN, and what I saw was William Dembski whine about "guilt-by-association" tactics while labeling them the work of a typical "leftist". Dembski did not respond at all to questions about what was inaccurate, if anything, in the letter he quoted. I can only assume he's put out because he knows that people are onto him, and the political tactics of the DI (such as organizing bogus conferences without evidently telling the participants of who or why the conference was being sponsored) in order to give ID undeserved credibility. Such a practice, as it was pointed out, is unethical and had the DI acted ethically Dr. Forrest's letter would have been superfluous. Dembski seems to be angry for precisely the same reason that a fraudulent psychic is angry upon having the whole charade exposed.

Given Dembski's content-free post, and the determination of the ID supporters to avoid an actual discussion of the factual content of Dr. Forrest's letter, or the ethical lapse of not informing the participants fully of the purposes of the conference (making the letter necessary), I'd prefer answering questions from a newbie TA anytime. At least TAs do something of value in education, a claim I think cannot be made for ID.

Gee, then why is no one refuting
him on the other thread here? Are ALL those interlocutors still in high school?

Cheers!

Are you talking about the "This is SO disappointing!" thread? There's not really much to refute.

Well his views on evolution are pretty well displayed there in the thread in its entirety including page 5. Where praytell (on which thread) IS he "refuted" or is this just the same old game of self-congratulation?

Cheers!

I really have no idea what you are talking about. Be more specific.

Okay I'll try one last time. Posted by Kevin:

Well DNAunion has 250 posts on this message board, at least some of them on evolution and related matters. So WHERE is he refuted by an undergraduate or for that matter anyone on this board? Because if not, then I'm just gonna believe
that someone is blowing smoke....

Cheers!

More pathetic recruiting efforts by leonard(e):

"Go ARN! ARN is #1. We have DNAUnion. Yeah!"

Blowing smoke? Sounds like leonard(e) blows, too. But does he swallow? Or perhaps he inhales?

You see, people, leonard(e) comes from a land where an unscathed troll(e) is a righteous troll(e). To him, leaving any argument is a sure sign of defeat, regardless of its merits.

Why is that? Well, leonard(e) hinted at the answer. He keeps harping on high school level immaturity, which of course only he would know so well. After all, only a few months ago, he was an active participant on la-la land designed "for undergraduates and high-school students," churning out nearly half of ARNs posts. Fielding questions from high school students and undergraduates? *laugh* Indeed, the only people there were leonard(e) and his friends.

But the trauma of the Ides of March forced him to come here to confront, gasp, the horrors of SARCASM and godless infantiles. Then the Douglas lynching. And then the Shroud fiasco. It is just all too much for one man to take! Hence his present protests.

"Go ARN Go. We're the forum of mature and scientific discourse!"

I think not,
SC

EDIT, to add some more of leonard(e)'s proud achievements:

Didja see what I did to the "Douglas!" thread over the swamp? What a stroke of luck!!!!!

I can forsee 2 new (but quite hidden) rules over at the swamp:

1) never start another Douglas thread.

2) never allow another Shroud of Turin thread to get underway.
Oh, the persecution and the injustices! Hey, people, lay off Ed, Thanatos, DNAunion, and leonarde, will ya? It is so unfair to gang up on them like that. ROTFLMAO

WOW!! You REALLY got me with THAT one!

Touche!

I'd best call it quits.
Oh - one question:

At what age can we expect folks to stop posting silly made-up poems and songs about their internet discussion board experiences?

So, you've switched from his posts in the "This is SO dissapointing!" thread, to all all his posts. Couldn't actually come up with a decent example from the thread you were originally talking about?

I didn't make any claim. The claim was that
an undergraduatebiology student "could refute" DNAunion. There are, I assume, many such
undergrads on this forum where DNA usually posts.
So where in all of those threads is a refutation?
Cheers!
