The bread I buy always has little plastic tab equivalents to twisty ties that don't twist at all and also invariably get lost about 20 seconds after opening the bread bag.

:notworthy ROFL...

I've run into ties that come pre-twisted the wrong way, causing more than a few extremely frustrating situations (think twisted so far the ends are together)...after I've opened a bread or bagel bag for the first time, I just tuck the open end under the rest of the loaf/the remaining bagels. I started doing that mostly because Lender's egg bagels (mmm) come with this deity-forsaken square-with-a-notch-in-it tab type closure device, which is about as easy to use as a vinyl record player (laugh all you will, I was confused beyond belief the first time I tried to play something on one of those). Unfortunately, the expiration date is printed on it, so if it gets lost, the obsessive-compulsive in me is never quite sure of the non-expired status of the bagels. And there's nothing like an unfulfilled compulsive desire to ruin the experience of an egg bagel.

Ah, the wonders of the world of bread product accessories...

What the fuck are twist ties? Don't you just twist the bagel or bread bag closed, and tuck it under the bread/bagels, and put the bag back in the fridge?

Are you out of your freaking mind?! The bread came with the twist tie and it has to stay with the twist tie! I mean, really!

Twist ties aside, "put the bag back in the fridge"?! You may as well just store it in the trash bin and save yourself the extra step.
