No, I haven't seen the remake, of course, and I am a huge fan of Albert Brooks, but there is no need to remake The In-Laws.
Alan Arkin's and Peter Falk's performances in that movie are iconic ("Aw, listen") and should remain so, IMHO. And while I do herald anything Albert Brooks does or is involved in, paring him with Michael Douglas (another actor I respect) just seems so bad in this remake that I can't fathom the (non)thinking behind it. A sad, sad day. Here's a thought for Hollywood; let's remake Catch-22 with the cast of Dawson's Creek! Are any of you mad as hell at all of the goddamned remakes? How f*cking stupid is the audience and when will they stand up and say, "[/b]F*cking enough[/b]"? |
