I was 17. I don't think I'm a better or worse person for it. On the other hand, my current girlfriend wishes I had waited for her.

I was 25. I used to be worried about that, but looking back, it's not that big a deal.

I wasn't in love with him and knew that going in. He was a friend. Unfortunately, afterwards I started to fancy that I WAS in love with him. Looking back at it, I was in love with the feeling of being attractive. I was kind of a nerdy kid growing up, didn't date much. When you're used thinking of yourself as blah, someone telling you that you're sexy (and treating you like it

) can be pretty heady stuff the first time. The relationship coming to an end was very upsetting.

But I don't think any unreadiness on my part was a function of age. I'd have been unready at 25, or 30 for that matter, assuming the same history.

I can't really say I have much in the way of regrets, though. For one thing, the very next relationship I was in had a very acrimonious and nasty end, and I think if THAT guy had been my first time, I would have been devastated instead of just very hurt and angry.

I'm certainly glad I didn't do anything so foolish as getting married to either one of them. Now that would have been a disaster!

Too young. I was pressured into it by my "partner" using razor blades against me and now I get sick to my stomach or want to cry whenever I picture it (it still happens) or see said person.

I was 14 and at that time I believed that was late... But then again, my entire high school existence was spent in the pursuit of coitus.
Didn't hurt me at all later on, but I'm a guy, so it is different. Sex seems to have more harmful effects on females when they have sex at such a young age.

19. First sexual experience was on my 19th birthday, first full on sex was a couple months later

I was 18. I voted 18+ because I was a much different person at 18 than I was at 16.

FWIW, I'm not sure being raped counts as your "first time".
