How true, Bubba......I used to listen to him daily, along with John MacArthur when I was a 'believer' (talk about mindless indoctrination).

I couldn't believe my ears, made me realize what an absolute moron Hanegraaf truly is. This tells me why he screens skeptics off the air (not to mention they blow him away intellectually).

I have a huge problem with MacArthur also. He's heavily dispensational (into the Hal Lindsey thing) and ultra-conservative.

I think that MaCArthur's book battle for the begining is a sham also. He obviously didn't do ANY reaserch into evolution before he wrote the damn thing.

BTW, MOJO-JOJO, how long you been an unbeliever?

Hell yes he does. Which is easier to sell (assuming your ministry is basically a marketing campaign) the idea that you are specially created or the idea that you are the product of a long, random and largely directionless process?

If you had basically no personal morals about what you taught or how you made your living, wouldn't you take the easy road?

This may be off-topic here, but what is it about this time of year that brings out the creationst?

Not only have I heard Hank "Bible Spin-Miester" Hanegraaf but I've heard David T. Moore give a sermon titled "Someone's Making a Monkey Out of You" and a few others on the radio over the past three weeks.

(Yes I like to listen to Xian radio for a good laugh as well as other folks around here.)

Pimply-faced college sophomores and juniors re-discovering the lab computers, quite simply.

(No offense to pimply-faced college sophomores and juniors -- I used to be one. )

Maybe it's because school is about to start and they want to encourage all the students to ask stupid questions and end up looking like morons.

Excuse me teacher, were you there?

Do you really think life came from rocks?

If humans evolved from monkeys, how come monkeys aren't giving birth to humans anymore?

If the earth is billions of years old, how come the oldest tree is only 4000 years old?

Sorry for the delay Bubba, just found this. My wife began dragging my arss to church around April '96, I went ahead and was Baptized November '96, was active in 'Bible teaching and reaching' until about May 2001, found the SecWeb during research to 'shore up my apologetic skills', and the scales began their inevitable fall away from my eyes subsequest to that period. I now consider my self a skeptical free-thinker, strongly agnostic, basically non-theistic other than a scholarly interest like those at the Jesus Seminar.

"Do you really think life came from rocks?"

sigh...I've just had this one triumphantly thrown at me by a bunch of YECs on another board as if it were the last word in disproving the whole of science. Of course, since a couple of them are home-schooling their kids, you know what those kids are being taught.

Absolutely! Just fire back, "Er...no....according to your beliefs it came from eroded rock." <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />
