But Eric, This is not reasoning, this is scripture. It is the plain reading of the Word. The first thing your God did with any regard to humanity was to put the first of us in his garden to tend it. I try to deal with the contradictions that exist between what the Word says and what Christians blieve it says.
The Bible clearly says that Gods reason for creating people was to care for his garden. All the rest; sin, damnation, salvation, the Hebrews, The Law, the Bible, Jesus, the cross, the resurrection, everything we understand as Judaism and Christianity came to be because things very quickly went wrong for you God. All of human history is nothing but your God playing catch up after his own mistakes.

I would say the opposite, because God might exist, you do not know for sure, so you can only believe he does not exist.

Eric
You think people that've never even HEARD of god walk around muttering, 'god does not exist, god does not exist, god does not exist...' Atheism is the default position. If you want people to believe in your god it is your job to show he exists, not ours to say he doesn't.

Eric H,

How do you know the universe was created for the greatest possible purpose? You might like it to have been, but it could have been made for, say, the gardener purpose.
