You've qualified the assertion to the point of utter vacuity.

Perhaps now you will understand it and quit attempting to contest and discredit it with your unsupported claims.

Nothing there to be understood. It's inane, diversionary nonsense which I can only guess is meant to make me as confused about the issue as you are.

brighid,

i don't assume anything, but rather make the child's welfare the priority in this exercise of coming up with the modern day ideal.

am i to gather that you believe it is in and of itself a benifit to the child to have both parents working regardless of income levels?

Actually I believe I can. Unfortunately I am at work and do not have the reference on me, but I should have it for you by monday. If you are feeling adventurous though, and would like to check it out for yourself look at the book "Families in Transition" by Skolnick. There are a few readings where they talk to mothers about their discontent, and I believe they do give an empirical figure for it.

Just what would that prove? How would I know whether those readings are at all representative of the the entirety of the study group?
It proves my point through empirical data YOU asked for, if you don't want your little illusion shattered, don't ask for proof next time.

It is representative because the data was compiled.

You don't have proof.

And this laughable fatuity demonstrates it. I double dare anybody to tell me that the conclusion follows from the premise.

If you simply wish to doubt the data, then consider that you don't have any proof to back up any of your claims either, I however have a scientifically accepted reference, you do not.

Vylo,
I'd be interested in seeing the data, if you get the time. Thanks.

We have intuitive knowledge. That should be obvious to everyone.
