Default Something for the Atheist community

I just wanted to post this experience that I had with my girlfriend of 5 months. Before she met me she was a full fledged Christian. Went to church every sunday and also did day care at the church. She told me it was because her (at the time) husbands parents were really into Christianity and "she should be as well" because they are.

Anyway she met me, single father w/2 kids living at home. She tried to get me to come to church with my kids (this was before we started seeing each other), she even gave my daughter a New TEstament, it was really small but because it came from her she treasured it. (ooooh was I mad, and somehow it disappered a few days later)

After we started dating she said something that I will remember for a long time.

"You know, I wasn't expecting you to be the way you are. I know you don't believe in god so I figured you would be ignorant or you would be an awful parent. It seems I was wrong and you have more morals than my ex in-laws and my ex-husband combined."

So I guess I'm not the heathen that some churches around here make me out to be. Hah, take that! /triumphant stance/

That day made me smile. Now she still believes in god but she hasn't attended church since living in my house.

Ahhh, I love her she's so cool.

What a sweet love story! Sounds like she's probably more spiritual than xian or maybe coming to into the realization that goodness andspirituality are reliant on christianity. I'll bet she's a wonderful lady.

Of course, all of those morals won't do you any good when you're burning in Hell!
