I don't know what "Cowboy Up" means. Thing is, I don't think they do either. I've also seen "Cowgirl Up" as well. Maybe it's a rodeo reference of sorts?

Naw it's an equivalent of "Buck-Up." i.e., "get it together."

It's a spoof on the gangsta expression "posse up"

Johnny Cash does rule.
I found this quote on his website:
Quote:
...Months later, I saw him perform at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles and he was great again. There's nothing like the sound of his voice. When it comes through a live sound system and you realize you're in a building with one of THOSE guys, it's a moment you don't forget. The fact that he can still sing that well is a testament to his for-real talent. In an age of pro-tooled music and pitch-corrected vocals, he is the genuine article. I met the man and he was gracious and polite,--a class act all the way. His music transcends category, trend and generation. He stands alone. If you can't get to Johnny Cash, well, you better check that out.

Shania Twain released her latest CD with two versions of evey song - a "pop version", and a "country version".

I think that about says it for where country music is today.

I love some Johnny Cash, Hasel Adkins, and even a little bluegrass now and then. Keep in mind that I'm a garage trash punk from back in the day.

Oh .. btw... "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is a good song too...

shoot me. now.

Mainstream country music is absolute garbage. There are alot of excellent alternative country acts though.

If any one out there is interested in finding out what quality country is check out Robert Earl Keen.
Robert Earl Keen

He is a true artist that writes his own stuff and is much more like a traditional country/folk/rock muscian. His older stuff is better than his last two albums but it is all better than the trash you get on the radio.
