Another quote from the great Katherine Hepburn:
----- In a 1990 interview, she told The Associated Press: "I'm what is known as gradually disintegrating. I don't fear the next world, or anything. I don't fear hell, and I don't look forward to heaven." |

The last time I saw her in a movie was in "Bringing up Baby" with Cary Grant, just 2 weeks ago. I've seen that movie quite a few times. The first picture in the link by Clark is from that movie. Her character's name is Susan (just like me!). I love hearing Cary use the name Susan.

I think I liked her most in 'The African Queen'. It is one of my favourite movies.
Kate had what the actors of today just don't seem to have - she had class. |

I have a lot of respect for Katharine Hepburn as a strong female actress. Her strong will and self respect practically emanated from the screen during her best performances. To this day, her portrayal of Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter absolutely blows me away. I had no idea she was an atheist, but I'll add that to the list of reasons I admire and respect her. Farewell, Kate, and thank you. |

That's a shame. First Gregory Peck, now Katharine Hepburn.
Still, both of them left a great body of work behind, which ensures that they won't be forgotten in a hurry. |

I've always loved The Philadelphia Story.
She will be missed. |

I also didn't know she was an atheist. Those statements above were pretty bold I think, considering what an all American icon she was. I think The Philladelphia Story was excellent as well. Just so well acted.
Spencer Tracey was a devout Catholic I think, or was that his wife? He couldn't get a divorce so couldn't marry Hepburn. |

I remember a reporter once asking her why Planned Parenthood was important. She said something along the lines of - If you're so dumb you don't know why Planned Parenthood is important, I don't know what to tell you. She was certainly never afraid of speaking her mind. She said that death was probably just like a nice long nap. I think it's funny that she was an atheist and unafraid to die and many christians are terrified to die even though they have this great heaven to go to.
