How do you know they were written by them? Did you watch them write the book?

Lake of Fire

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

As an atheist, I can assert with confidence that the Christian definition of God gleaned from the Bible does not exist, and is a myth, a man-made deity. However, I, like most other atheists, don't positively claim that no gods exist; I admit the (remote) possiblity that some god may exist, but I'm confident enough that the Christian god doesn't exist to just come out and say he doesn't exist.

So, indeed, those are the "opinions" of someone that lacks belief in god(s). And I'll continue to lack belief in god(s) until I see evidence to support the existence of a god.
How can you be so positive that the Christian God doesn't exist?

I can assert with confidence that the Christian God does exist. What makes your confidence more valid than mine? Because you said so? Even supposing that most of the Bible weren't literal, and it had errors based on man writing it - how does that deny the Christian God?

We don't. We just lack belief, just as you lack belief in Allah, Vishnu, Krishna, etc.

Because it shows that the Xian god doesn't care about people believing, because errors are what turn people away from Christianity.

Irony, my friends, irony. If you're akin to Baldrick, then consider the cousin of goldy and bronzy.

Read Mageth's response - He doesn't just have lack of belief, he is confident that the Christian God doesn't exist. Those who lack belief, don't care either way.

That's because the biblical depiction of your deity cannot exist. The evidence is overwhelmingly against it. For starters, eternal torture is not loving in the least, nor is it just. Would you consider it just if you were sent there, for ANY reason?

How would you know what justice is? Did you create the universe and all the laws its bound by? You have no clue what justice is - the only concept of justice you know of, is in the country you live in, which is hardly perfect justice.

And the evidence isn't overwhelming against it - There is absolutely no evidence against the Christian God at all. You can't disprove Him.

And what makes you think the torment in Hell will be the really bad part? Physical pain is less severe than emotional and mental/spiritual. Jesus endured arguably one of the most painful torture and execution methods in human history, yet none of the physical pain compared to the agony He endured when God the Father turned away from Him because of the sin he carried. That hurt Jesus more than any of the torture ( hence why he screamed God, why hast though forsaken me).

No, but I know what fairness is. Did you do any of the above? Did you witness it? Do you have irrevocable proof? If not, why should I believe a ludicrous idea? Ever hear of the burden of proof?

You can't prove him, either. And the more outrageous the claim, the more proof is needed. Until that proof is given, disbelieving in your deity is fair and rational.

How could a deity as that described in your bible exist? Why would he be so self-contradictory?

Then, wouldn't the separation be part of the torment? You still haven't explained why separation from a cruel, vindictive deity would be painful. I think it would be bliss.

Where's the evidence for your God, Magus? With no evidence, the only rational conclusion is to assume your God doesn't exist. In addition, a supposedly omnibenevolent god that supposedly loves us that's gonna chunk most of humanity into an eternal "lake of fire"? Give me a break; if a god does exist, I'd never accuse him of such horrible behavior.
