I've always been partial to DS9. It was more visually interesting than TNG, and the stories were better. The acting took a little while to pick up, but that's true of all the shows, and I really liked the characters more. Unfortunately the last season was nearly unwatchable, but for me "In the Pale Moonlight" and "Sacrifice of Angels" were the highlights.
Voyager never really drew me in the same way that TNG and DS9 did, and Enterprise has lost me completely. I especially don't like what B&B have done with the franchise, lately -- they had a chance to do an epic B5-ish story, and passed on it for more of the same. ![]() |

What, no animated series option?
![]() I voted TNG. And isn't it Next Generation, not New Generation? ![]() |

"The New Generation"?
You must be thinking of "Pepsi Presents: Star Trek". |

IHMO, DS9 was probably the best overall.
I liked the fact that it was a bit more "gritty" than the other shows. Instead of being set on a shiny new starship that could go anywhere, DS9 was set on a space station that, for lack of a better term, was a dump. I also liked the fact that there was more of a continuity to the storylines. It seemed (to me) that the other shows were pretty much self-contained within each episode. The shiny new starship would fly into an unknown system, meet the local aliens (always humans with ridges or bumps on their heads) and solve whatever problem needed to be solved by the end of the hour. In other words, you could miss a week or two and not miss much information. TOS always ended with everyone back on the bridge of the Enterprise, laughing at the silly Vulcan. TNG always ended with everyone back on the bridge of the Enterprise, boldly ignoring the fact that the ship was still so amazingly clean. Voyager (no matter how much shit they got into) always ended with everyone back on the bridge of Voyager, trying desperately to get back to the really boring part of the galaxy. I liked the fact that DS9 often left you hanging, with plenty of unresolved issues and a reason to tune into the next episode to see how things would turn out. I also liked the fact that, since DS9 was (for the most part) stuck on the station, the writers were forced to put more effort into the characters and storylines, as opposed to coming up with a new bumpy-headed nemesis every week. |

Original Star Trek. Nothing beats the friendship of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, and of course all those women in miniskirts.
![]() DS9 was also a fairly good imitation B5. ![]() |

I also voted for Deep Space Nine. When the series first debuted I hated it, but for some reason I started watching it in repeats and really got into it. I started watching the new episodes every week. I think the characters were much better than any of the other series.

Deep Space Nine, hands down!
It was the "ugly duckling" of ST that became the beautiful swan. The two-parter "The Way of the Warrior" was the best episode of ANY Star Trek series, period. And Jake ("the Sisko Kid") was much more interesting than Kid Crusher on Next Gen. Now that Paramount has begun to release the series on DVD I intend to watch 'em all over again... ![]() |

I lost interest in DS9 after a couple of seasons. I was fond of Quark and Odo but it wasn't enough to keep me interested. I had to go with TNG. Picard's my favorite captain by far and I loved the friendship between Geordi and Data.
