why do Americans drink their beer cold?

So they can tell it from piss.

anyway, in defense of Canadian macrobrews, the stuff you get in the States is much differenet than the stuff you get in Canada. A molson there is much much MUCH better than a molson here.

I'll take Bryan. You can keep Celine. PLEASE.

I'd like to apologize for all the Americans like Lamma who are perfectly serious when they say such absurdities.

well, I guess some one owes Colin Mochrie an apology...

Quote:
Comedian Rick Mercer is well known to most Canadians as one of the original stars of "This Hour Has 22 Minutes," a satirical news program aired by CBC television. Among the program's highlights were Mercer's editorial rants and his "Talking to Americans" feature, in which he skewered American pretensions by posing questions about Canadian politics and geography to folks from the U.S. to reveal how little Americans really know about their northern neighbors. Mercer also made U.S. news in February 2000 when he intercepted Texas Governor George W. Bush on the presidential campaign trail in Michigan and asked the Governor to comment on his endorsement by Canadian Prime Minister "Jean Poutine." Governor Bush responded that he was honored by the endorsement, apparently not recognizing "poutine" as the name of a French-Canadian concoction of french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. (Canada's Prime Minister is Jean Chretien.)

All that said, we have to point out that although the U.S.-thumping "apology" quoted above (circulating in truncated form) was aired during the 11 February 2003 episode of "This Hour Has 22 Minutes," it wasn't delivered by Rick Mercer, who left the show in 2001. This piece issued from the mouth of Mercer's replacement, comedian Colin Mochrie, in his role as reporter Anthony St. George. A video clip of this segment can be viewed on the "22 Minutes" web site.

The moon landing
I have always loved side-tracking science classes with starting a mass-class conspiracy theory discussion in relation to the moon landing. Highly dubious? No, not really, I for one believe it actually happened, but I was never one to enjoy astronomy (or science classes in general - dumbed down bullshit) so I prevent other brain-dead pupils from learning.

Not sure I understand you. Are you saying that 'our Blind Date' is better trash than your Blind Date'... or that Howard the Duck is somehow better than, say, Life of Brian?

Cheers, DT

Cool About Neil Young ..

Let's face it most popular culture is total shit. However, there have always been a few gems among the crap to make the whole thing worthwhile.

Admittedly a great deal of utter crap flows out of the US, but then so do a lot of really great things. Nonetheless, I do feel it is incumbent on me to point out that Neil Young isn't among them. I realise that a lot of Americans probably view him as a rock legend - but on this side of the pond he is generally thought of as a big wanker with a screechy voice.

Neil Young is Canadian. And he is a rock and roll god.
