Wow.

I echo the words of so many others when I say "I didn't know him, but I sure did know his humour" and, as a member of so many internet forums, believe me when I say that I can empathise with such a sudden loss of such an influential member.

I hope you're giving God the bollocking he deserves right now, MadMordigan.

Quote:
Suicide is a very selfish act and usually hurts those left behind. Just read about the pain he inflicted on the board members here. Imagine his wife and family. I don't feel sorry for him in the least.
We may feel sorrow, to be certain, but I don't remember seeing one post reproaching MM for a decision that was, at the end of the day, entirely his own. I can see no justification for reproaching a man in such a circumstance, merely because we don't beleive his decision is best for us, those peripheral to his life. Suicide is the last resort in an undeniably desperate situation, and having been on the brink before, Talon, I would have assumed that you could understand the dark, overwhleming thoughts that must have been echoing through his mind the moment before he committed to this deed. Condemning a dead man out of resentment for one's own emotional distress would be, if you excuse my sincerity, quite sick, my friend. If one of my family members were to take their own lives, I could be quite sure in saying that I wouldn't resent them for executing the sanctity they have over their own bodies, merely because doing so left me feeling a tad "unhappy".

While no-one, I suspect, is overly pleased about the action MadMordigan has committed, no-one has the right to claim that his act was selfish merely because we would have preferred him to be here with us right now. To do so would be to suggest that we have sanctity over his life, the equivelent of existential slavery.

Rest In Peace Steven. I never knew you, but I genuinely feel for those that did.
