Quite right Revdahlia. I've heard the name Robert Johnson, I think, it might have been yesterday when I read it here or ages ago. I don't think I've heard any of his music or have I heard snippets in all those great r'n'r songs of yesteryear?

Robert Johnson was a Delta blues guitar player who recorded during the '30s. His best-known song is "Crossroads" (which Cream popularized and heavily embellished.) He's terrific, everybody and their brother rips him off shamelessly, and he is reputed to have sold his soul to the devil. The aforementioned compilation is a good introduction.
Speaking of Cream, I have officially lost all respect for Eric Clapton. It seems that "God" jacked every lick he ever played from a semi-obscure guitarist named Freddie King. Bah. |

Jerry Lee Lewis is the first thing that pops into my mind. All the emphasis and power that technology had at the time. Imagine him today! Of course, he probably stole that from someone else as well.
