Default Intro.

I'ts probably a little late as an introduction, I've been posting for a little while and making blunders all over the place.
In my trade I've never had a need for a computer and sort of held them in destain untill about a year ago when I got hooked on web browsing.
The post's on this site are the only ones I've ever done,
typing is an agony, and I've yet to learn to cut and paste,oh well.
Anyway I love your website, I've never seen so many bright people in one spot.

Welcome, DBT9522!

I hope you enjoy your stay, have you noticed the free coffee here in the lounge?

With regard to copy-and-paste, you do it as follows:
1. Mark the text you want to copy, by moving the mouse arrow to the first character of the (part of) text you want to copy, then pressing and keeping down the left mouse button and moving the mouse arrow so that the desired text changes colour (the background will change colour, too). After all the text you want to copy has changed colour, let go of the mouse button.
2. Move your mouse arrow over the now marked text.
3. Click the right mouse button: a context menu opens.
4. Click with the left mouse button on "copy" or "cut" (cut will take away the marked text, while copy will leave it intact)
5. Click with your left mouse button to the place you want to insert the text.
6. Click your right mouse button: again, a context menu opens.
7. Click onto "paste" or "insert"

There! The text is now in a new place. It's simple once you've done it for the first time.

Hey DBT, welcome! Another way to copy/paste is this:

1. Same as Enai wrote
2. Hold control and press "c"
3. Place pointer into target text area
4. Hold control and press "v"

Hi DBT Friend,

I had to have someone explain the 'copy and paste' thingy to me about four years ago when I first visited the networld...

I think it's sort of an initiation that many of us go through.

What interest brings you here?...just curious!

Nice to meet you, and Welcome

I just learned how to do this yesterday and I'm computer savvy. Position your cursor where you want to start highlight something. Press on <shift> button and keep it pressed, then move your cursor to where you want the highlight to end. Don't drag the mouse, just move it and click on where you want it. Voila! Superprecise highlighting without having to drag the mouse.

Carol Massey,
why I came here? I suppose we would all love to know the secrets of life, death and the universe,he he.
I found this site while I was browsing through the christian forums,
Ruffus Attacus was debating there and mentioned this site,
I was very impressed with his posts.
This site offers a great access to knowledge and I like to hear other peoples point of view. Phew, thats enough typing for now,
thank you all for the responce.

Cool

And do you think you'll find it here?

I've read that CG Jung had carved in wood over the door to his home an inscription in Latin that reads (translated) :

"Invoked or not invoked, the gods will come".

I reckon that's how it is.

Well! Good to have you here, DBT.
