Tercel, I happen to like your arguments and theological ideas very much. I also like the way you present your views, not getting testy or defensive. Many others, theist or not, could learn a thing or two!

I visit two other sites on a fairly regular basis: <a href="http://alliedconservatives.com" target="_blank"> Allied Conservatives </a> and <a href="http://freeconservatives.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi" target="_blank"> Free Conservatives </a> By "Conservative" it is very much in the American sense of the word...and yes, there are many Fundamentalist Christians on both. I have mentioned the sec. web in debates over there and have usually been greeted with scorn. The very name "Infidels.org" seems to scare them away. Of course, the fact that the word "Conservative" is in the titles of these two sites seems to scare away the regulars here at Infidels. Debates here or there seem to be within the confines of whichever view is prevalent, i.e. "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?"

Tercel, you perhaps have a kindred spirit in the person of a poster with the handle "Timberwolf." By that I mean your styles of discussion, and not so much theism: he is a Christian of the American Fundamentalist variety. I asked many questions about his faith and he always answered without being smug about it. He seems to post more at "Free" rather than "Allied," though the opposite was true in the past. Anyway, both sites have forums devoted to religious discussion, and I would think it most interesting to see the two of you share/debate your views.

Well you can probably guess my views already.

I have something of a dislike of small groups which condemn everyone else to hell...
While I don't approve of several Roman Catholic doctrines mentioned, however they are still Christians and I don't approve even more of people who regard them as not fully Christian brothers.

I don't see how Chick manages to think they are going to Hell either. Roman Catholics accept all the important things and it seems to me that even the most Fundamentalist of theologies should have them going to heaven. If, as the tract says, "For by grace you are saved through faith... it is the gift of God..." quoting Eph 2:8-9, then the RC's must be saved since they have faith.

I thought the parady rather amusing. Of course I don't agree with the universalistic view or the idea of this life being "heaven" or reincarnation. But the points raised against Chick's views in the first half I thought were pretty spot-on.


As far as "Timberwolf" goes, I'm happy to argue anything with anyone. (Although it's generally easier to argue something I believe, but the other is good practice)
I'm beginning to get bored of posting at Infidels and I was sort of thinking of moving to another board, so if and when I do, I'll certainly check out the two you suggested.
