On a minor note - Actually, you can make a pretty good case (as many historians have) that the US did win the Vietnam War. You can use almost any standard (casualties, battles, territory) to see that at the time the bulk of the US military left Vietnam, the US had won. The South fell not because the US was defeated militarily, but because we left due to growing opposition at home.

Well Freudian slip or not,I`m glad somebody finally said it.

btw,
"I curse you in Jesus name" is something I caught Meta saying to someone while he was making an ass of himself elsewhere on the net.
Just didn`t want you to think it had something to do with you.

So far I see little, if anything, from Metacrock on this page which is objectionable from an official point of view. Of course, you are free to draw your own conclusions regarding what his comments imply about his maturity, tolerance and compassion.

I do not much care for discussing administrative matters in the middle of ongoing threads. In future, if you wish to make a complaint or draw my attention to something like this, please Email me - my address is in my profile. Alternatively, an Email to forum@infidels.org will go to all five active administrators.

Do my kind words wishing RW happiness and a good life -- regardless of what he believes -- count as well? Perhaps my good will wasn't obvious enough to you.

The depth of your concern for atheists, however, is easily apparent.

When I give money to charity, I don't ask if it is an "atheist" charity. It is the goals of the charity that matter to me. Isn't that better than engaging in petty tribalism?

You are a paragon of Christian people-skills.

And you wonder why you are mocked when you say things like this? Know thyself.

Hey - I noticed that just before I got to your post!

Hey Hilarius/Spirit Branded - welcome back. I'd been wondering where you'd got to. Why the change of name?

I like the idea that complaints, when people have them, are e-mailed privately to the administrators rather than publically posted.

There certainly are rules about 'not being a jerk' but that's quite subjective and I prefer boards where someone can have a bad day and maybe post one or two things that are rather 'out there' for them, and the moderators don't feel they have to jump on them; where warnings and bans only start being instituted if someone is persistently perceived by a significant number of other posters as detracting from the value of the boards.

Trying to over-manage just makes life miserable for the moderators of busy boards and ends up being rather overly invasive to the group dynamics.

That's my experience; I was a moderator once, too, on busy boards (not here).

love
Helen
