Theatrical trailer(s) All-new digital transfer Scene-specific commentaries with director Philip Kaufman, producers Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff, cinematographer Caleb Deschanel; and cast members Jeff Goldblum, Veronica Cartwright, Scott Glenn, Ed Harris, Dennis Quaid, and Barbara Hershey. (TRT 25:00) 15 minutes of Deleted Scenes/Bonus Footage/Never-before-seen additional scenes 3 new documentaries on the making of the film including interviews with Mercury astronauts and Chuck Yeager Feature documentary John Glenn: American Hero Interactive timeline with vintage footage Widescreen anamorphic format A big reason why I buy the special editions besides the new features is that the studios usually take the time to clean up the picture and sound. I'd love to see a new special edition of Last Boy Scout, though! That and 'The Adventures of Ford Fairlane'. |

The three that would provide me with great solace:
The Road Warrior, Apocalypse Now, and Blade Runner. Until I typed it out, I never found that concept strange. |

The Fifth Element -- easily one of the best audio-visual experiences in the modern movie world. Put it in my Mac, strap on the flat-response headphones, and get ready for the ride!
I also own. . . Final Fantasy (best animation movie, IMO) Heat (best cop movie, IMO) Die Hard (best action movie, IMO) Barry Lyndon (best period piece, IMO) Star Wars episode 1, just to look at Saving Private Ryan (best war movie, IMO, but that's not saying much) Starship Troopers (a fun sci-fi flick) Magnolia (one of my faves) Star Trek Generations (OK movie but mediocre DVD quality) Spaceballs (silly, silly, silly, but funnier than hell) |
