Arrow

Even the original Star Trek wasn't as good as Firefly. Firefly was hard SciFi instead of fantasy, whereas Star Trek was...well, they went faster than light using magic crystals.

Yeah, I was surprised how gritty some of the episodes were. A lot of kill or be killed. Like the scene in an early episode where Mal strides back on to the ship and simply shoots the Alliance agent who's holding someone hostage . Usually you would expect some "Let's discuss this" scenario. It was refreshing.
I also liked Inara's bathing scene.
When they are cursing are they using Chinese and words that sound like swear words.

One of the things, as I have been looking at what looks like a pathetic lineup for UPN next year, is to wonder what the hell that guy at CBS (which owns UPN) was thinking. But then, I have wondered what the people at SciFi have been thinking for some time. Fox seems to actually have an issue with punishing success (the timeslot Fox put Firefly in has been the kiss of death since they moved the X-Files from it years ago).

I'm glad to see the idea of a Firefly movie, but on the other hand, I would still would really like to see the show come back. I personally think a great venue would be a network like Showtime.

That show was never given a decent chance. It was screwed with by Fox executives from the beginning.

On the other hand, isn't the woman who runs Fox entertainment, including the network, the same one who proposed to Joss Whedon that he try Buffy as a TV series, and then relentlessly promoted it, in the first place?

Yes. I have wondered why she took the stance she did...
