In another thread I asked this:

I wonder what a bible for a dog would sound like?

God created dogs in God's image?, and so everything that Is, is created in the image of God.

Well, God sure fucked up when he came to the human race! Does *anybody* honestly believe we're created like God ... that smacks of human egotism and arrogance.

If we *are* anything like God ... that would sure explain away a lot of The Bible ... killing, slavery, rape ... goodness, maybe there's something to this theory after all.

Freewill?

Does anybody* honestly believe we're created like God ... that smacks of human egotism and arrogance.

Psalms 82?

If we *are* anything like God ... that would sure explain away a lot of The Bible ... killing, slavery, rape ... goodness, maybe there's something to this theory after all.

How do you wish to use your divine gift?

Jesus used his as depicted in the bible and other places. For the good, the "devil" tried to persuade him to do otherwise, and knowing what Jesus could do, I don't see how he would have failed to get what he wanted. But Jesus didn't want the power in this sense, he wanted people to be like children and laugh at this wonder we live in.

So Jesus came up with a commandment that would encompass atheists as well. Love thy neighbor...
Jesus said it was just as high as loving God, but Jesus avoided the word "God". Because if you live a humane life, who cares what you believe?

Hey!

Don't you know, this is one of those places we're supposed to arbitrarily know to interpret, not take literally, the biblical text.

See, image doesn't mean IMAGE, it means tone, or character, from the ancient hebrew word graevuycvsjhvf.

Sheesh. Isn't anyone around here a True Christian (tm) that knows when to interpret (when you don't like what it says) and when to read literally (when you do like what it says)?

In the beginning there was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.

Tone, is just a different pitch, than the original, like overtones and whatnot

I just want one fundie to explain why the hell god created the appendix. It's totally useless and sometimes it can rupture and kill you. What's the point?

A sense of humour?

I don't know. Have no clue at present.

We can assume that in many cases the Lord created animals that would be a delight to man, and created man to be a blessing to the animals. Even today, both children and adults enjoy seeing gorillas and chimpanzees in zoos. It is reasonable to assume that these creatures were partly made for just this reason, to be a joy and entertainment to us.
That explains it perfectly. How could people not realize that mosquitoes, tapeworms, pathogenic organisms, and the like were made partly to be a joy and entertainment to us?

By the way, when I was a true believer, the standard answer was that we were created in G-d's spiritual image.

So your god thinks it's funny to create an organ which has a decent chance of killing you?

Since my God re-incarnates, we don't really die.

It is merely the illusion of death akin to what Buddha said
