I don't think marduck is claiming to make any Nostradamus-like prophecies here...

Oh yes he is!

I'm not a fan of George Bush. I didn't vote for him. However, the responsibility of quelling Islamic Fundies has fallen squarely into his lap.

OK, I supported his efforts in Afghanistan to get the Taliban out & squash Al queda, so how does destroying the ONLY secular non-Muslim fundamentalist State in the Mid East going to help fight terrorism??

Maybe he did lose his family because our president's grandfather was said to be involved in financing and supplying the Nazis, including their rise to power...

Lamma,

What can I say? I was addressing Martin Buber, not you. I could not avoid including those he was talking to in the point I made. I was talking about whether it was worthwhile to respond in kind to the perceived closed-mindedness and insults. If you read my post, you'd see that I wasn't necessarily encouraging that behavior from anyone. I also didn't think either you or Warwick were necessarily worse than others from differing persectives.

Also, I was thinking more of Warwick than you, frankly. Martin included your name in his response, but I wouldn't say you are like Warwick, so my post probably suffers from insufficient exactness. You are certainly opinionated as are most here, but that doesn't mean you are a "below the belt" fighter. Warwick is the guy who knows who all the liberal "fantasy land" people are and seems to categorically deny their points with that assumption.

So, again, I was talking to Martin. Perhaps I should have done it with a private mesage, but I felt if I were going to say something you should have an opportunity to see it.

Good to be back, everyone.

Another week without war.

Bush abandons the UN.

How much longer before the madness starts?

Comments from the Right or Left?
