So it's some sort of inactive duty... sounds fun!

You're not part of the standing army, but held in reserve. If necessary you can be called up to active/full duty. This usually happens with support jobs like water purification. The commentment to the reserves is one weekend a month and two weeks a year, which is mostly for training (IIRC). Employers are also required to accomidate reservists. Looks like Russ is in for his two weeks.

Hi Russ,

The problem with the "liar, liar, pants on fire" issue is that one side engages in it in an attempt to divert attention, the other side engages in it legitimately to demonstrate the tactics of the opposition. It is also clearly demonstrable in many instances.

I really don't have any qualms about describing Sarfati as a serial liar.

Why else would anyone (for example) continue to display pages such as this page which contain in bold print at the end a statement which isn't true - see this for example.

Whatever you may say about Talk.Origins (and that article in my view is one of the best-written of any of them), they are unafraid to link to Creationist sites but I don't see any links that Sarfati makes to sites that disagree with him.

I wonder who is more scared of opposing viewpoints?

Not to derail the thread or anything, or to sound rude, but is it my imagination or is Socrates/Sararti a complete sodding *#@!
?
What the hell is wrong with that guy? And he calls his attitude "agape love"

Sheeeit!! I'd sooner have an honest enemy ahead of me, than a "friend" who practices "agape love" towards me, behind me, backing me up!

I asked him something like how one could tell the difference between a practicer of "agape love" and an enemy. I wonder what he'll say?

I've been on the wrong end of so-called "agape love" a good few times and would strongly prefer an enemy with a half-decent sense of honour.
