Oops. That's what I get for "pronouncing" my statements in my head before/while typing. You both come out as "peeese". Much and humble apologies.

Ack! You are pronouncing it wrong! Maybe Peez is "peeese", but PZ is "peasy" (rhymes with "easy") or maybe "pee-zed" if you're a Brit.

You're absolutely correct, of course. Unless you're typing REALLY fast, and then "pee-zee" gets shortened to "peees'" (can you tell I've been spending an inordinate amount of time arguing with cretinists?)

Hmm, what are you trying to say about your persona, then?

Sorry reldas, that is a bona fide quack you have there, but at least it is an alternative hypothesis. Maybe one day, if someone finds some evidence for it it might become a theory.

Greetings
Debuncked eh? AS long as the very last organism generated are Oomycotids- the water molds, it has some real pizaz!
From thier point of view, it seems like their heretic theory has as much evidence as any macroevolutionary one- or maybe that it just makes more sense on a genetic level. PLease divulge into just how you think "Senapathianism" is less viable than Darwinism - besides the problem I alluded to earlier. I think it'd be fun to play devil's advocate and toss it around a little.

What terminology are you using? water moulds are chytridiomycetes, aren't they?

<a href="http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/chromista/oomycota.html" target="_blank">http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/chromista/oomycota.html</a>

I think the chytrids are "imperfect fungi" cause' they lack sexual reproduction and alot of them are water molds. But the Oomycota have cellulose-ish type stuff in thier cell walls instead of Chitin.

Nomenclature- Smomenclature! Lets do some cheery theory!

If there are substantial differences in the genetic material of different genres of organisms, then whats so bad about theorizeing that different families each had separate cenancestors, but all from the same pool?

Whats to say that Oomycota are not the offspring of some genetic material from previous successfull cellulose-walled protists and fungal genetic material? Campbels has nothing on this soup!
