My profile says I registered April 1, 2002. If that's accurate, then thats when I found out about it.

I think I just Googled 'atheism' and came up infidels.org infidelguy.com atheistnetwork.com atheists.org

I think(I'm not sure because I also think I was stoned at the time) I was just following various links, which happened to be atheistic sites at the time, and stumbled onto one for this place. I lurked for a short time, and then registered, becoming the post-slut that I am today. Thanks IIDB.

... The first Message Board I was on last year was with the "Atheist Network Message Board". After I got interested in Reggie the Infidelguy and that being his and Jake's Message Board. I was checking out several things on Atheist web sites. It was when the "Atheist Network" got it's new message board and "Amie" and "Marcel" where having a lot of contension with the "Atheist Network" that "Amie" said it was her last Post and that anyone can see her Posting in "II" last October 2002. I tried to find out what "II", was and found this place. I remember seeing this place before, but never thought about joining it. Until "Amie" and "Marcel" made an issue about it in "Atheist Network". Like I said since October 2002 last year. So I think after I got to figuring this place out in November, did I finally get myself registered with this place.

Had gone through a painfully, long deconversion, ending after I had done an exploration of the evolution/creationism controversy and realized the absolute intellectual bankruptcy of the creationist movement. Shocked myself by admitting I had become an atheist ("Hi, my name's Bill and I'm an atheist." "Hi, Bill.") and discovered I was still interested in attempting to live an ethical life. It sent me searching for philosophy and atheist websites and I ended up lurking here for several months before finally registering.

I got an email from the Infidel Guy telling me he liked my site, having never heard of this person and finding out that he had a website, i went to check him out. I found II in his links list and registered pretty much on the same day.

Thumbs up

I think this belongs in our lounge.

Oh and abuot finding this place...I think I was looking to debunk atheist arguments. In all seriousness.

It took me just a few months for the reason and logical progression to take over my senses and snap me out of whatever it was I was in.

I was arguing about gun control of all things with some people on the now defunct USA Today forums. I the course of those discussions somebody put up a link to IIDB, and I came, I saw, I registered in December 2000.
