I don't know how liberal they are, but they certainly support many of the same things I have supported all my life...and I'm a registered Republican.

Oops. What the hell was that I wrote?

What I was trying to get across is that whenever the religious right pushes for legislation like this, they assume it will only apply to christians, a few jews and, since 9/11, a handful of moslems.

If the satanist groups want to be politically active, I think they could do us a favor by letting congress know that they'd welcome the opportunity to start a PAC or two and start endorsing candidates (imagine trying to explain to your would-be constituents why you had been endorsed by the church of satan?). The only such groups I know of are the ones that have been discussed here in reference to their march endorsements. (And as you point out, who here knows what they are or aren't doing?)

I do support the march and will be there if I can. I haven't looked yet, but I'm guessing my rep. is probably a cosponsor--he's not very smart, and this is exactly his kind of bandwagon. I'll write him anyway.

Sorry Splat; obviously I did misinterpret you. Gotta stop responding to posts way after my bed time!
