And the Bureau of Labour Statistics says that about 240,000 jobs were lost (across all industries) last November.

Thanks for the update. I'm 33 right now just so you know.
It's funny you mention steel tariffs because they've affected my business negatively as well and I disagree with them.

I wish you lived in Australia. You'd learn pretty soon that hustlers aren't welcome here. People want honest workers with a good attitude, not some cheeseball trying to wriggle into a job he's not qualified for, just to make a few bucks.
[b]You misunderstand me. When I use the word "hustler" I mean someone that will take even the most demeaning of jobs-to do whatever is necessary to get by.
If you're dissatisfied with your life it's hardly my problem. I can't imagine that there is absolutely NOTHING that you could do in an attempt to make yourself less unhappy.
Does working your ass off gurantee you'll be rich? Hardly. And I don't think I ever said that. But the alternative of doing just enough to get by or putting in 40 hours and going home is average and that's the best one could expect to do by those actions.
My point is that you can blame another person or even an entire country for your woes but that isn't very productive. I also don't claim that I strolled happily through my adversity with some pie in the sky idea that "If I work hard, I can do anything". I just did what I did because no one else would do it for me and I didn't want to sit in my misery and point fingers. Most of the time I've just been resolute about it.

That's not accurate at all. It was due to our inexperience in dealing with unscrupulous people that got us into some trouble. Did we get screwed over? Yes. But the majority of the blame lies with us for dealing again and again with rotten people. It's long story but we fell for the carrot and stick a few too many times. Therefore it was mostly our fault.

Where did I ever say I was dissatisfied with my life, for crying out loud? Quote me. I want to see it.

FYI, I am not dissatisfied with my life, and that's the whole point! Apparently, no amount of work can make you properly literate...

For crying out loud, I never said I was unhappy in the first place! A mere 2 years after I got my government job, I managed to buy a house and pay off $7500 of credit card debt. Unhappy? Not on your life! The reverse is actually true!

My goal is to be happy, not to be rich. I put in some extra work on the side because my government job is only part time. I want to pay off my mortgage, move interstate, buy a second house and rent out my old one while I look for a partner in life. That's what I'm aiming for; happiness, not piles of gold. Can I get that? I believe I can. Can I get it by working hard? I believe I can. But if it doesn't work out that way, will I blame anyone else but myself? Of course not.

Well, duh! Hello Lamma...! Earth to Lamma...! I actually agree with that - as clearly demonstrated by my monster post on the previous page - and I've never held the attitude to which you refer, nor even hinted at it on this forum, so get your straw men out of my sight before I stick them somewhere uncomfortable! :banghead:

What crawled up your ass? First you give this long fucking sob story about how your suicidal father worked so damn hard and then you give your own about how you work so fucking hard and from everything you said you sounded pretty miserable. Preceding that you're whining about the US has made life so difficult for you Down Under. Do you actually read what you write? Do you realize how angry you sounded in that post? Or do you just like to jump down someone's throat that you disagree with.
Grow the fuck up.
