I'm not sure what I'm being asked so I don't know what to answer. I think that SETI is overall a good idea but I know sweet fuck all about it so I'm not inclined to commit myself further.

This thread is unbelievable.

I don't think I've seen anyone here claim that absolutely nothing unites atheists (that is, their commonalities are purely by chance). Rather, the claim is that no other beliefs are neccesarily attached to atheism.

So xian is arguing against a proposition which no one accepts in the first place.

God damn.

I can't answer this question with a TRUE or FALSE. I think that I have NO existence after my death, particles or no particles.

I should really clarify this. In my opinion, to talk about my existence after I die is nonsensical. I have no existence after I die. My current existence is a function of my current brain/memories/etc. It's not possible to talk about me after I die. After I die I do not exist.

I think it's possible to describe what happens to the atoms and energy that make up my body and brain after I die, but nothing happens to "me" after I die. After I die, I am no more.

It's kinda hard to describe. Maybe someone will understand what I'm trying to say.

That's why, as challenger (well, the main one that did not totally dismiss this as bullshit), I am currently having these filled out by random people I know. I have one done. Can't promise how many I can do, but I will do a few more.

8) Do you ever go without food because you can't afford it?
