Hello fellow infidels,
yeah... I'm a newbie and a evolutionist freak. I tried to differentiate the Hardy-Weinberg Theorem in calculus class... my teacher stared at me like I was crazy.

That is because the Hardy-Weinber Theorem doesn't involve calculus.

See the following link.

In the latest free inquiry magazine, Richard Dawkins explains "Why I Won't Debate Creationists."

Basically, he said that although he could invariably make his opponent look like a total rube every time, "they need the publicity and we don't." Just being on stage with such a famous scientist garnered them attention. Dawkins said that the best way to deal with such challenges was to offer to send a well-spoken undergraduate- a fine mix of utter confidence and contempt.

The illustration for the article was the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, standing on one leg with both arms and one leg in a pile beside him. In one hand was a sword, the other a Bible; on his shirt a cross, and on his helmet a Jesus fish. Cool, cool, cool!

(Let me take this opportunity to encourage you all to read this issue- Winter 2002/3. Articles by Newdow, Arthur C. Clarke, and a whole section dedicated to bioethics and cloning. I wonder if they had contacts amongst the Raelians? )

(Oh, yes. One of the bioethics articles, by a David J. Triggle, is entitled "Everybody Must Get Cloned!" )

We, the members of the high chimp council have discovered that you humans are not really that advanced as a species. We must come to the inevitable conclusion that human IQ is lower than the IQ of the noble chimpanzee.

Really, you must realize that the real world IS... the real world. There is no place for the mythological "rain gods" or goblins and ghosts.

Faith is a poor substitute for logic and evidence.

Faith is a poor sub for any thing in this world. Since I no longer have faith in a god of any kind, I know that my IQ has increased a bit. I find it easier to like and be nice to all people rather than just the ones who believe what I believed.

Rufus was of course wrong in posing the question; it is a false dichotomy, and I wonder if by concentrating on the Creationists then atheists are simply doing themselves a huge disservice - shotting themselves in the foot because it's such an easy target.
*sigh*

Just call me a heavily-empiricist atheist.
Actually, it isn't a false dichotomy. The question asked to pick between the two. It does not suggest that there are only two possible options.

Asking you if you prefer strawberry ice cream or vanilla is not a false dichotomy. Had the poll asked which was the correct process, then it'd be a false dichotomy.

Thumbs up

I voted for evilution, too. Cause I am Evil, of course.

and because I believe Person, and in fact, every organism, is created. By their parents. Ew. god forbid.
