Stonetools, I don't think you fully realize what is going on here. I used to be a theistic evolutionist in the sense of that was what I beleived, and it really wouldn't threaten my faith if evolution were somehow true. "Let the waters bring forth..." even sounds like evolution as I am sure you are aware. One particular problem I have always had though is the reference of Adam bringing death into the world, but prior to that being told to replenish the earth. I realize there is a lanquage debate there, but I had often thought that whatever the 5th day was, and I think the scriptures suggest it was a long period of time and not a 24 hour period, there was evidence of the fall of Satan and death prior to the garden, but this is one area I haven't studied as much theology on. Maybe you can help.
But getting back to the thread. Look at this site and the way religion is treated. Science does not have to be anti-religion, but the evolutionists have made it so. It is religion for them. They want to uphold the scientific method as the only acceptable means of accepting truth, not just for science but for one's life. That's why they say things like prove the resurrection or whatever. They refuse to accept the limitations of science, and to be honest, they are biased against miracles, the spiritual realm, etc,..to the point that they wouldn't accept even dental records documenting a miracle. I know because I could provide at one time the dental records of men who did indeed have their fillings either turned to gold, or replaced with new tooth at some unusual anointed meetings. Really, I can say I have witnessed numerous bona-fide miracles. I use the dental thing because that is so unexplainable, though people rising up from deathbeds when the doctors said they would die, or even were brain-dead, etc,...This kind of thing has happened and not just a few times. These types of miracles happen in the thousands. But these folks will never accept it because you can't make God submit to scientific standards. He won't do a miracle every time, and He won't perform on demand. Even if Jesus were alive today and He raised Lazarus from the dead, it still wouldn't meet scientific inquiry because He wouldn't do such miracles on demand to prove Who He is. When the men of His generation demanded that of Him, He flatly refused. So the approach to science these people here for the most part accept is indeed a deliberate attempt to gain power by claiming only the scientific method has validity as a means of truth, and no matter what they say, their attitude says more. I may be a poor witness for Christ, and I am sorry that I am, but Stonetools, we should be aware of the battle that is going on. It is no accident when attitudes such as displyed here have been adopted by soceity and governments, that they have bitterly persecuted and butchered religious people for their "unscientific views." Some here don't want to admit it, but atheist governments did persecute in the name of atheism. Atheism as much as communism is the motivation for the torture and killing of religious people in socialist countries. Fact is often the religious people were no different in terms of capitalism vs communism, but they are/were brutally tortured by those that accept only what they view as scientific. |

Well, thanks for Scigirl for admitting to the religious nature of this board. I agree wholeheartedly.
I am not though convinced that evolution or science should be made into an alternative religion as you apparently are. |

What I meant to say was (and obviously you didn't get it), is that boards run by religious groups are equally if not more hostile to other religions as internet infidels is. |
