Default What does logic

have to do with Gods inspiration?

Oh I guess you are the only person that has logic or God is so incompetent that he cannot write a book that if taken literally, makes sense and error free.

If this is your God than I definately pass.

The Bible makes perfect sense to those who don't have the presupposition that its all wrong, and whose only purpose in reading it is to find errors when they have no clue how to read in context .

The only proper context that it seems to make sense to me is its historical context. If you put yourself in the mindset of men a couple millenia ago, then it makes perfect sense.

Default I know how to read the context

And God said the earth is a flat disk set upon pillars that cannot be moved with a hard solid sky dome that opens to let rain in.

Evaporation is a myth and the space shuttle program is a fraud.

God also has an evil spirit and Jesus is 2000 years late and counting.

Magus55, you cannot force them to learn. It will not happen. And who are we to say that they are not pursuing the exact life God wants them to lead? Remember, my Christian friend, that God is more deep and more profound than any book, the Holy Bible included. They see the Bible as the tome of a blood-God, and see no further; you and I see further into that book of books. We see the gems inside the rubbish, something they will not permit themselves to do.

Mark9950, God wrote the perfect holy text: a book so layered in mysteries and occult riches that it can take a lifetime to decode and digest. I highly suggest you look into the works of Christian mystical thought, especially Catholic mystical thought. Hermetic alchemy is also a good place to begin your search for decoding the wonders that are in the Bible.

No sin here. Eve chose wrong action before she ate the fruit which means she gained the knowledge of good and evil in a way God did not anticipate. Upon eating the fruit she became "as a god" just as God said she would. When she offered the fruit to Adam he responded to her as though she was a god [she was] and obeyed by eating the fruit.

My highlighting. Where in the Bible does it say that?

Otherwise perfect logic as I see it

On the off chance you're actually interested in the truth, 111111, most atheists here were once cult members who probably know more about the bible than you or magus.

But if it helps you two to pretend we're just incapable of "seeing the way" or some such pathetic nonsense, by all means, enjoy the fantasy.

My own deprogramming came as a direct result of reading the bible both literally and metaphorically and both led me inescapably to the obvious conclusion of deliberate cult fraud.

But, I guess imaginary, metaphorical beings move in mysterious ways, right?

Of course right.

You know Koy, i wish i could believe that alot of you understand the Bible, but apparently you don't. Either that, or you just get a kick out of making fun of it and mocking us by asking the same incessent questions over and over and over. Mark for example, certaintly doesn't since all He knows how to bring up are supposed contradictions with no deeper understanding at all - as if he is the first theologist or scholar to ever contemplate and question those apparent contradictions.

Default Yes I am blaspheming it and mocking it

I am still waiting for the bolt of lightning to strike me from heaven for blaspheming it.

No one can deny culture has a strong influence on writings especially at the time of abraham who lived where there was no cameras,no space shuttle,no technology or computers and to abraham the earth seemed flat and had no other way to prove otherwise.

I give this argument of all the gods during abrahams time which god did he worship? How do we know if abraham worshipped a god or the God?

Why would a bolt of lightning strike you for blasphemy? The penalty for blasphemy is far far worse, and will come in time. So you still have time to seek forgiveness, unless you are so positive i'm wrong that you could care less if Hell is your fate. In which case, may God have mercy on your soul.
