I think we have to differentiate here between experimenting with what is socially considered sexuality and actually having sex.

I don't think that anyone should have sex before puberty, and if they are well educated about sex they likely won't want to until the later teen years .I'm not talking about putting a condom on a banana in school, I'm talking about emotional and philosophical education-(morals have nothing to do with intelligence, education or wisdom)-. I'm talking about things like the level of passion involved in sex (not passion as in "heat" but passion as in intensity of ALL emotions), things like the hang ups some people have, the fears and shame some people have which still need to be respected. And of course physical things too, like condoms on bananas, but that's basic. Basic sex education in North America is taught on the playground and in the locker rooms not in classrooms. That's where I learned all my "dirty" words and saw the first pictures in a soiled magazine found on the roadside.

If children have a chance to see what other children look like without feeling ashamed or dirty then when they get to be young adolescents feelings will be a stronger motivation then the driving desire to get into another's pants inspired in us by car commercials, pop videos and women's tennis. And when they do decide to have sex, whether love is involved or not, they won't feel ashamed, perverted, dirty or guilty.

Somebody mentioned watching children masturbate is okay, but masturbating with a child is wrong. I think that's backwards. To watch a child masturbate you must be getting pleasure from it, that's a rung on a ladder that should be avoided at all costs. And the worst result, even if it doesn't go further than this, is exploitation. However what if I taught my son, or my wife taught my daughter how to masturbate? Again, it's a rung on a dangerous ladder but at least there's a potential purpose to it. What's the purpose in watching your child masturbate?

But actual sex, of course children shouldn't have sex, things will get broken. And even after puberty there's physical risk not to mention that when people "fuck like bunnies" as somebody eloquently put it they're bound to make bunnies like bunnies.
