Oh, they still have no doubt that they are there, they are insisting that Saddam was quite clever in hiding them. So, clever in fact that not even he knows where they are.

In all fairness though, just a couple of weeks ago, there was a thread at ChristianForums where one of the pro-war posters did come out and say he was duped by Bush.

Unfortunately, that post is gone with CF's recent server crash, but it was a very good read.

To answer the OP's question directically: the retraction thread is simply missing. However, those who claim it never existed are nuthin but revisionist historicians!

Excellent post, Bill.

The Sunni minority is having a hard time getting used to not being part of the "in crowd" that runs the country. Some of them are working with the USA administrators, but others of them are far more likely to throw in with the Shiites and hope for a better state of affairs with them in control. Any Sunnis that join with the Shiites just make it that much more impossible for Bush to avoid an eventual Islamic state.
To make matters worse, the Bushites totally dismantled the pre-existing bureaucracy in order to make a clean ideological sweep, despite the fact that most of the low level Baathists probably had little love for Saddam and were not involved in setting policy in any meaningful way. So the country is left without any administrative capacity, and thousands of educated Bagdadis -- mostly Sunni -- are now out of a job. Given that they can't find work with the American occupation, who do you think they'll cast their lot with?

Probably would have been an apology in there, too, for impugning the motives of anti-war posters -- eg, attributing their scepticism to a mindless insistence on doubting America at every turn.

Could someone give a link to the apology/retraction thread? Thanks.
I thought that the Reason We Went To War has been officially rewritten to "liberate those poor Iraqi people from that homicidal madman". WMD's weren't a big deal. And those of us that keep harping on that issue . . . well, clearly we just support Hussein and would prefer he continued to rule Iraq.
