Starboy,

I have been and still occassionally frequent a Christian forum. There are many wonderful and not so wonderful people there. As I have stated before, I really enjoy this forum and hope that I can share and be an active member.

Would you care to ask me things reagrding my Buddhist practice, and which will hopefully reassure you to my intentions etc?

Because you could have been a Buddhist and still be a Christian. You might even be a Buddhist Christian for all I know. People have all sorts of beliefs don't you know.

Whilst that could be true, it is in fact, not! In fact, are you a Christian in deep deep cover?

I could be Christian but I haven't behaved in any way that would make someone think I was. So until I do it is best to assume that I am not. However when I encounter someone that claims one thing and then behaves in a different fashion I become suspicious.

Whispers and Starboy, please take this discussion to PM. It is inappropriate in this thread.

Thank you,

You are a very suspicious individual sir! I am no more Christian, than you are trusting!

I look forward to debating with you...

So if Richard's "example tempts [you]", what has the example of the not-so-wonderful christians at the forum done for your question of whether "christianity must have something going for it."

Seems like they'd cancel each other out and you'd be left conclusion-less.

As we are when we notice that Christianity has on the whole no visible effect on behavior, since Christians tend to be just as good, or not-good, as non christians and the best thing you can say is "and in equal numbers". Leaving one to wonder, "so why Christianity?"

Y'know?

Old Russian proverb - trust but verify. Before you make any conclusions about Christianity you would do well to heed it.
