Thumbs down Big Brother is Watching - Don't Touch Yourself!!!

Stop the world... I want to get off. I can hardly believe that in the year 2003 people still think like this - and some of them are on the judicial bench!!!

Federal judge upholds Alabama's ban on sex toys
Quote:
The court of appeals disagreed, in an opinion by Circuit Judge Black, who accepted the states argument that its interest in promoting morality served as a rational justification for the law. The state argued that it has a legitimate interest in attempting to discourage autonomous sexual expression that is, masturbation.
WTF???? My mind is boggling. Seriously.

WTF indeed.

The really funny part is Alabamans are going to have to buy their sex toys from out of state, either by crossing state lines or mail-ordering them. Which means the state of Alabama will miss out on all those sales taxes.

Good point Dave. I'm not 100% sure if it just bans the *sale* of sex toys in the state or the use as well... if it was the latter my head might explode with disbelief.

But you're right - it's not like people won't still buy them anyway... ridiculous.

Fucking ridiculous! It sounds a bit like the ban on xxx movies here in Australia- they're banned from sale in all states, but you can legally mail-order them from the Australian Capital Territory(or buy them over the counter there, and in the Northern Territory). Ironic, or what?

Heh, what about people who use normal household objects as sextoys? Will the state of Alabama then ban vacume cleaners and washingmachines featuring spin cycles? The state of Alabama could turn into quite a dirty place.

hehe, thought of another one, they will have to ban most produce as well (although my fiance has always maintained that most veggies are evil). Maybe this all began as a conspiricy by the meat companies to increase sales.

ROFL!!! Hmmm... alternately, perhaps it's a conspiracy by the cucumber growers to increase their sales...
