Not only that, but Israel must be a nation holy and pure and this very well means that those damn Catholics must be removed or annihilated.

Most Jews are not aware of this undeground movement because only fundies see it that way. Before the USSR collapsed a massive Exodus was planned to migrate all the "Jews from the North" back to Israel so JC could come back (and I even think that a royal airplane was ready to truck Jesus to America once he got here because they were the loyal soldiers in Christ who made this possible).

Interestingly when the USSR did collapse an exodus of Jews went into Russia.

Israel is a state of mind (one with God) and should never have become a nation to start with. It is misleading and deceiving to suggest that the homecoming of a Jew should be to a physical peace of land instead of the land (read "mind") of their birth.

Fundies are warped by the pains of their second birth which landed them in hell.

I never understand how the fundies think that when Israel became a nation the clock started ticking for Jesus to return. When the OT talks about Israel being a nation again, it always talks about being ruled by a great king who obeys all god's laws. I don't think it quite had in mind the secular state that Israel is today. Just because you call a country Israel, doesn't mean it is what they refer to in the OT.

Must be because they are so desperate for validation of the NT that they have to grasp at straws to make anything fit their viewpoint.
