They (Israel) have a small dilemna, though- While they typically kick arab butt in War, taking on all of Islam would be a very difficult feat. They remove the mosque and there will be war. There will be war like hasn't happened there in a very long time. From what I understand, there are several tactical plans for removal of the mosque. Even if the mosque is destroyed and Israel isn't to blame (or doesn't look like its to blame), though, building the temple there would still likely cause global scale Jihad. It is interesting to see how this will play out. I don't know they (Israel) would get much support from the west if they just destroyed the mosque. Then again, they might- if terrorism is demonstrated to be far more popular in Eastern Islamic countries than we think it is. |

what i dont understand is why there is so much focus on Israel and Jerusalem and that tiny postage stamp of land called the temple mount. In my college there is a whole group of students that talk about this constantly, including armageddon and a place called megiddo..what is so valuable about this land?
