Don't forget that many (if not all) of the Amazon books can be ordered through the SecWeb bookstore (link at the top of the page) and will put a bit of money into the SecWeb coffers. Just be sure to get to Amazon through the SecWeb bookstore page

I think it's interesting that you mentioned that Ohio schools always take Good Friday off--when one of my friends moved here (Georgia) from Ohio, she was amazed that we didn't get Good Friday off. I think the occurrence of Good Friday holidays is probably higher in areas with larger Catholic populations. In rural GA, we ain't got too many of them folk.
Spring break (a week) was usually around Easter for our public schools because it's usually around the middle of the semester. It was never associated with Easter per se, but it did make traveling for family holiday reasons easier. Krieger, did your school not have spring break? But in the Augusta area, the week of the Masters is always spring break for their schools. --tiba |

At my highschool, we had a 2 week Winter Break, and a 5 day weekend for Spring Break (Thu-Mon). While Christmas, Easter, and Good Friday were on the school calendars, it didn't bother me, because the calendars were all inclusive. Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, and Buddhist holidays were also on the calendar. I think schools should offer the Winter and Spring Breaks. Why not let them coincide with a time when most families would be visiting with relatives anyway.
