Default 50-cal nickname in WWII

First, this is probably the wrong forum for this question, but I just decided to post it here hoping that there would be some military history buffs in here.

I'm supposed to find out "the nickname of the 50-caliber rifle during World War 2." I tried searching google but only got nicknames of aircraft which used 50-cal guns.

Thanks for any help or links.

AzJeff,

Ma Deuce! I knew I'd heard it before, just couldn't remember. Thanks a lot for the help.
