This is an amendment that was added to the partial birth abortion bill which just passed in the senate. Quote:

I couldn't find that amendment. I searched for "prayer" and found this:

But seriously, folks, there is a national day of prayer every year, and the religious right makes a big todo, and the secularists role their eyes. It's not as serious a threat to the wall as, say, school vouchers for religious schools or the nomination of Estrada to the Supreme Court.

Besides, proclaiming a day of prayer and fasting on March 17, St. Paddy's Day, is probably an internet joke. |

Why, food would only be wasted sober calories? Must get drunk enough to sleep with gorilla, or ex-wife, whichever is more attractive at the time.

Here's a link to what emphryio was talking about.

Truly unsettling. That link don't work. It says search expired. Try entering "prayer fasting" here. That doesn't work either! {Now it should - Toto} Go to the DOTG site emphryio linked to and try what No Deity suggested. You'll find the text that way from "thomas.loc.gov". {edited by Toto to fix link to thomas.loc.gov - you're not the first one to have problems with the "http://" button or to find out that you can't link to a search at thomas.loc.gov} |
