I know that this requires a lot of speculation, but what do you honestly think the odds are that I could become a member of a tongues-speaking church, give my best fake of a tongue-speaking session, and have a tongues interpreter interpret it as something other than gibberish? I would tend to guess they'd be pretty high.

I suspect that you're right and they would say something along those lines. But it sure doesn't say much for their concept of free will. God would allow all kinds of pain, death, and destruction so as not to interfere with free will. But he would use me despite my wishes to speak a foreign language in one of His churches.

Hi Kally, true indeed and that is because many of them end up there. Sad and tragic and I am awaiting the first lawsuit in this area. Worse yet, some charismatic evangelist are aware of this and conveniently blame it on satan. We had a neighbor boy that got zapped at the tender age of 16. He was afraid of the courts about some traffic violation and a preachers kid decided he needed Jesus to do his battle for him and they 'laid the HS on him.' He came home completely crazy and a bit later he ended up in a mental institution.

Once I was typing up some preaching of some black rectum/2 (half assed) preacher. He was ignorant and very difficult to transcribe. I had to stop transcribing because I had the most primal sick, fear in my gut I have ever had. I never met this guy either, it came thru on the tape. He was in Dallas or some other part of the country. I fear for the people who were actually around him - it's the only time in my life I have felt an aura of evil around someone, even more amazing it was second hand on a cassette tape.

Also, a so called Xtian called me up and told me I had no right to charge for my typing, so I slashed my wrists cuz I couldn't stand the abuse any more adn checked myself into the county funny farm for two weeks, which was totally useless.

Fundy bullshit (including speaking in tongues) makes me suicidal.
