Default to all the infidel PC Gamers

I was inspired by the talk in the laptop forum
What system are you running? What are your current favorite games. What games are you looking forward to?

My system (soon to be upgraded)
Box (aka case for all you 1@|\/|34z ): random 8 bay piece of crap with a single silent blue LED fan (soon to be replaced with a Lian-Li PC-65B)
Mainboard: Abit AT7-MAX2 (a beautiful board, btw. runs flawlessly)
CPU: Athlon XP 1700+ (soon to be replaced with a 2600/2700+)
Memory: 384 MB PC2100 (soon to be replaced with 512 of 3200, and, in a month or so, 1 gig of same)
Sound: Sound Blaster Live (I'd like the new hercules 7.1, but I don't think I have money for it)
Video: Radeon 9700 pro (it may not outperform the GeForce 5900, but hey, I spent $130 less (more like $250 for the ultra), and I've had mine for close to a year )
Monitor: 18" (17" visible) KDS CRT (soon to be replaced with a Quantex 19" (18" visible) flat CRT)

Fave games: GTAIII, UT2003, UT, Star Trek Armada 2, Avernum 3, assorted others

Looking forward to: Halo PC, Doom III, Half-life 2, any GOOD RPG's.

So, how 'bout everyone else? Let's get 1337!

LOL. I have a puny 20 gix, AMD-1000 mgherz system, basic speakers.....

...and lately I've been killing time with Imperialism 1 from 1997. I'd love to see Imp 3 upgraded so that it is a serious game.....I have Baldur's Gate waiting for this summer, and also 1813, some kind of Napoleonic game.

Talking

Well I've got:

AMD XP-1900 1.67GHz?
256MB DDR SDRAM (Supposed to be 512, grrrr it busted)
40GB 7200rpm hard drive
ATI Radeon 7500 All-In-Wonder
19" monitor
DVD drive

It's a decent system. Not mindblowing, not awful. It works just fine.

Right now I am absolutely addicted to Battlefield:1942. I've also got Warcraft 3 lying around but I haven't been playing because BF:1942 is just too good. Also I'm way better at BF. Though I used to kick ass at Starcraft and all, it takes too much effort to learn WC3.

I think I will start up some old games soon. Maybe some Fallout 1 or 2.

*AMD Athlon XP processor 2000+ operating at 1.67GHz
*256MB DDR SDRAM Memory with up to 32MB allocated to video memory
*60GB Ultra DMA Hard Drive
*DVD/CD-RW combo drive 32x10x12x40x max

Not really a gaming machine but it manages: UT2003, Half life, Deus Ex, Myst III, Quake 3 Arena, Jedi Outcast, Star Trek Elite Force, Alien vs. Predator, and Heavy Metal - FAKK2

I will definitely have to upgrade if I want to play: Deus Ex 2, Half life 2, Elite Force 2, and Doom 3.

I'll probably only be able to afford a nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra ($100)

Here is the machine I wish I had:

I don't have any games that I'm playing with any frequency currently, but my game machine is:

AMD Athlon XP 2000 MHz processor
GeForce 4 TI 4600 Vid Card
512 PC133 RAM
XP Pro

My board can handle PC133 or DDR but only two banks of each, so I'll upgrade to a gig of DDR when the prices fall a bit more on the 512 DDR sticks or when SWG comes out, whichever comes first. My other needed upgrade is CD device. I'd like to get a cd burner.

My other machine is a "desktop replacement" Inspiron Laptop from Dell. I've taken it as a second machine to a couple of lan parties and it performs surprisingly well on the current generation of games (including BF1942 with most of the visual settings on).

I'm not really a big propellerhead (I'm a software guy, not a hardware guy), so I don't know the specifics of most of the other components. I put in one of the soundblaster cards a few weeks ago because the onboard audio was giving me trouble in BF1942, but I don't recall which one I got. I have a buddy that does all my shopping for me.
