That happened to me last week with my mouse...ghaaaaaa!

No Amie,I don`t have a chip on my shoulder and I`m not painting all religious people or Catholics with the same brush.
It seems to me that you are in a way Fenton by assuming that myself and every other catholic believes *everything* the church believes. I am basing this on your comment to me when you told me that I believe in "lots of things" and then you went on to say it would take too long to list all of the things "the church" believes. You assumed I believe *everything* the church does and that is not the case. People have subjective interpretations and personal perceptions. You did call me a victim. I am not trapped by my church in any way. If I dont want to go to church, I dont go to church...

I`m not making fun of you either. My beef is with the institution and not with you.
No I never thought you were making fun of me

Why does this have to turn into something so personal?
well Fenton you said this:
Quote:
What I find "socially obnoxious" is that some people still take this Catholic suffering saint shit seriously.
and therefore if someone takes it seriously they are socially obnoxious?

Quote:
Now I have GT sending me a message asking if I personally hate her or if my hatred of the RCC is all consuming. WTF?
Well what is wrong with Gemma asking you through the PM system? I don't think its right to post someones PM in a thread. She asked you privately for a reason.

Quote:
but god forbid anyone says anything negative about the church around here because it`s going to be taken as a personal attack or hurt someones feelings.
Thats not the case Fenton...sure it may not give me good feelings to read some things, but thats okay its part of life but I respect those who think differently and I understand that people have their own reasons for feeling the way they do.

Quote:
Say one thing about the church around here lately and everyones palms start bleeding!
Not true.

Batteries dying. You guys will have to tell me all about how I`m persecuting your people later.
My people?

As long as they don't believe in saints, or stick up for the church they go to.

2.)I said what I said about this so called "saint" in a thread started by BShack,Not Gemma Theresa.
the moderators comment could've given you some indication of what kind of bandwagon you were jumping on.

3.)It was a joke.
I still think it was in bad taste Getting a good humping from crazy eyes. Does it matter she died at a young age after suffering horrible deceases, and is held in high regard by Gemma who was bound to stroll into this thread? Who regardless of whatever is a person with feelings.

You didn't sound too chipper in your previous post... my misinterpretation perhaps. Still hoping for a good humping from the crazy eyed saint? Who were you calling a victim?

5.)I`m not teasing anyone here.
In regards of my earlier bandwagon remark, let's just asume you overlooked the moderators comment, and withdraw that statement.

I guess the overly sensitive theists and the atheist guy who follows one of them around the board because he thinks she`s hot can`t take a joke.

When did this board turn into the audience of the Mother Angelica show?
It didn't... it's a freethinkers board... where people are free to speak their mind... me included.

Nevermind. I retract my joke and I`m sorry to have caused such a terrible stir.

InfinityLover,
I don`t have time to dig myself out of this huge pile of misunderstood bullshit and I really don`t care enough about the RCC one way or another to go on and on with this.
And I`m not hoping nor ever was hoping for a good humping from the crazy eyed saint. Maybe YOU are hoping for something from someone mentioned in this thread, but I`m certainly not.

I`m done with this. You win.

Praise the lord or whatever!

You would think Hellfire (tm) would have kicked more ass ~ it always does in those Stephen King movies.
ahh but dear Ronin perhaps hell is more of a dry heat. Like in Arizona.

I like Spiderman, Wolverine and the Incredible Hulk...as children of science, they're much more realistic.

~ or perhaps, hell exists only for the extremely gullible and Arizona is a real place.

Well, MJ is surely a hot hottie...as for Padre Pio, he sure looks like a creepy old dude ~ and his lack of webshooters really detracts from his overall schtick.

Wow, that was mad. Fenton posts a single, harmless remark about a beautiful - but doubtlessly mentally troubled young woman - and then gets shat upon by everyone, atheists included!

I'll bet if it was a long-dead man that was 'insulted' by Fenton's remark, nobody would have batted an eyelid. Everyone's a sucker for a pretty face.

My thorough beating had nothing to do with beauty and would have been just as bad had I insulted an ugly male Catholic saint.

The key word here is "Catholic".
I insulted a Catholic idol and this naturally bothered some Catholics as well as a nonCatholic Christian passer by who likes to voice his opinion on just about anything and everything.
This alone would have probably caused me enough trouble, but my comment also happened to bother an atheist who`s in love with one of the Catholics I had possibly offended. This is what caused me to really get shit hammered since love has a blinding effect that often causes people to stick up for anything regardless of how absurd it is.

It`s best to just walk away from this one since someone seems to be letting his little head do most of the thinking.
