Is there any anti-hero movie other than this classic 1983 movie and The Godfather Trilogy? I read about this movie in Electronic Gaming Monthly and how it inspired the Grand Theft Auto series, then brought it through VCD format. It is no wonder I found out the root of Cuban accent imitators and the whole "Don't mess with Tony Montana" catchphrase. The movie is a bit tad dissapointing because there was not much action as I anticipated, just revolvement around characters and story development, but the ending was superb and maybe it's the best gangster movie out there after The Godfather. Can't wait to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

The 1983 film was basically a remake of the 1932 Scarface, just in a different setting. I picked up the original on dvd for 3 dollars a couple months ago, after i'd seen the De Palma version, and it's basically italians and booze instead of cubans and coke. So, there's one anti-hero movie for you

Alright, how movie illiterate do you have to be to get movie recommendations of 20 year old movies from a video game. I mean, you could've at least said you saw it on MTV Cribs. Anyway, IMHO, the 2nd best gangster movie next to The Godfather (or 3rd best if you include Godfather 2) is Goodfellas. |

Deacon, the king of movie literacy, hasn't seen "Last of the Mohicans" (even though I gave him a widescreen copy of it) so take his criticism with a grain of salt.
Although he and I had to sit through Le Chien Andalou together in experimental film, so he does have some grounds to gripe. |

![]() Besides, GTA is playing Scarface. I pity you if you have prejudice and generalization that video games are kiddie. |

No, his claim is that the film is a classic, and for some reason finding out about it from a video game means you haven't been paying attention to cinema. (his opinion not mine) Deacon has a Play station, Xbox, and Nintendo 64 all hooked up to his TV at the same time, he certainly doesn't think gaming is "kiddie". Also, I informed him that he was being a little harsh on you so I apologize for him that you were insulted. Don't sweat it. Just don't say you heard about citizen kane from playing asteroids.

One of my favourite anti-hero films is the rather underrated Falling Down. I know it's not a gangster film, but definitely worthy of a look.
