I reached the same conclusion today when, apropos of nothing, Rush Limbaugh tried to associate the "French-looking" Senator Kerry with social reforms in Canada. Even though Kerry hasn't said anything about gay marriage & legal pot in Canada (to my knowledge), Rush knows for a fact that a President Kerry would bring the same things to the USA. In Rush's imagination, it's already a fact.

This is a typical tactic for Rush & Co. But I had to wonder, of all people, why tar Kerry? Answer above.

I strongly agree with Idaho.

And it isn't just caller ID. It is also a matter of not particularly wanting to speak out about your dislike of the president in this increasingly "McCarthyesque" time to some stranger that could be anybody.

If I got such a call, I would say no comment and try to politely get off the phone. (And I think Bush is surreal comedy.)
