Source is the IRS Form 990 files by the organization. AiG's Form 990 availiable from GuideStar is a year older which will be the reason why the Ham's salary is not the same as given by the newspaper article. Ken Ham was paid $134,304 with $8,340 in benefits. Ken Ham plus all of the paid board members have total pay that sums up to $302,339 with $30,424 in benefits. Nonboard employees are paid $1,534,218 plus $281,447 in benefits. It really looks like Ham's salary is going up! And he gets paid far more than his NCSE counterpart. The ICR's salaries seem quite reasonable and do not deserve condemnation. I will ignore benefits which are not excessive.
Board Members John Morris $74,412 Duane Gish $73,000 Donald Rohrer $64,600 Highest paid non-board employees Kenneth Cumming $68,193 Larry Vardiman $62,400 Steven Austin $57,500 Donald Barber $70,000 Henry Morris $55,600 Three other employees are paid over $50,000. Reason to Believe for being a smaller organization than ICR is much more generous to its head honchos.
Hugh Ross makes $118,555 plus $9,663. Three other board members who I will not name make $60,524, $83,925, and $76,205 with benefits of $3,169, $4,577, and $5,781 respectively. [ October 30, 2002: Message edited by: Valentine Pontifex ]</p> |

The Discovery Institute is not excessive in paying the people in charge. It head honcho, Bruce Chapman makes $82,081 with no benefits. I see two two other key full time employees with listed salaries under fourty thousand with no benefits.
