My guess is that this was an attempted eviction.

If so, why didn't he serve eviction papers? Once he did that, he could walk into the house (with police escort, if he so desired) and begin removing their belongings and such.

From that thread one can get this page that is a "rap sheet" of sorts. |

Request for moderators:
Could the subject line of this thread be edited to make it clearer what the thread is really about? "Oh, for the rest of the story" really is not that informative. A subject change will also make if far easier to find this thread in the future. How about "Kent Hovind Felony Arrest" or the like. |

Paul Jewell is not a dispassionate witness, or even just an employee. He is Hovind's son-in-law.
From "mageth" on this forum: " Marlissa is Dr. Hovind's scheduling secretary and her husband, Paul Jewell, serves in the shipping department at CSE. " From the old Jack Chick website: " Dr. Hovind lives in Pensacola, Florida with his wife, Jo, and their children, Kent Andrew, Eric, and Marlissa ages 19, 20, 21." The ages are now inaccurate, but how many Marlissa's are there in Pensacola? Also, a visit to the Escambia County Tax Collector shows that the house at 100 Cummings is owned by a Barry Weaver Jr. If so, why was Hovind there at all? Lastly, while looking at real estate, Hovind possesses a fair amount. The appraised value of 21 and 23 Cummings Rd (29 Cummings seems to be contiguous), listing "Kent Hovind Trustee for Faith Fellowship Baptist Church" as the owner is $145K. The Dino Adventure land properties on Palafox Hwy have assessed values of $41 K and $144K. Hovind or Hovind and wife are listed as the owners (not trustees), and the property was bought in 2001 for $155K and $125K, respectively. There is no record of a "405 Schubert Drive" - what Hovind gave as his address - able to be gotten from this search. Please check all of this out for yourself at http://www.escpa.org/ {edited to fix link - sci} [ September 06, 2002: Message edited by: scigirl ]
|

I am rather shocked that he did not just give them x days notice. As landlord he can do that unless there is some guarentee of some sort in the contract. I don't know what minimum notice requirements are in Florida, but I am under the impression that it is usually thirty days. It is thirty days where I live. |

Jesus Christ: "The real question is, why the hell was he there?"
Peez: "Remove 'why the hell' from that sentence and you have my thought." No, you're thinking of Ken "Were you there?" Ham. |
